This space is the answer to a question I have been asking myself for quite a while: What’s next?
Since 2003, I have been a stay-at-home mom. Sure, I worked a bit as a speech therapist and reading specialist. I’ve written about children’s literacy and volunteered in our local public schools. But at my core, I have been a mom and I’ve loved it.
Now, as our girls grow up and become awesome, independent humans, it seems my full-time job is becoming a bit more of a part-time gig. Caroline, our oldest, is in college and Katherine, our youngest, is in high school. Rob, my amazing husband of twenty years, is busy with work. Our cockapoo Daisy can only take so many walks in a day before she is ready to curl up on the couch, and I just can’t bring myself to train our cat Poe to do tricks (which after much Googling, seems like the most time consuming thing I could do with a cat). I’m joking… kind of.
Thus the need for my question of what’s next. Ideas come easily to me. Execution of those ideas? Not so much. Over the past few months, my mind has raced from one different idea to another. What has arisen as the one consistent, overarching theme is that I want my time to revolve around stories. I want to share stories. I want to read and write stories. I want to watch stories and listen to stories. And most importantly, I want to discuss stories as part of a community. (That’s where you come in.)
So this place? This is where story lovers of all kinds can gather. I’d love for you to sign up for my newsletter and visit my Offerings page.
I can’t wait to share stories with you all!
